Viral Infection (Skin) in Childhood

Roseola is a viral infection of childhood commun run. One sees it in the children between the 6 months and 24 months ages. At the beginning the child will have just the high fever and after the fever inserts three to seven days, the child obtains with red increased eruption everywhere the body. The eruption can last anywhere between few hours to few days and it starts on the chest and deviates with the arms, the legs and the face. This eruption is not irritating.

Some children reached of the virus of roseola show the characteristic viral symptoms like cough, the liquid nose, inflated glands, the diarrhoea and irritability. However, the majority do not show that all the symptoms and that is what makes the diagnosis difficult. It is only when the eruption is obvious that the doctor can diagnose the condition.

There is no special treatment for the roseola and the majority of the children obtain well without any drug. However, to reduce the fever, you can give drugs like the acetaminophen or ibuprofene.

Roseola is caused by the human herpes Virus-6 (HHV-6) and is also known like sixth sibitum of the disease. Even the human herpes Virus-7 (HHV-7) is supposed to cause the roseola. There is no seasonal model for the roseola and a child can obtain it constantly year. Although the majority of the doctors think that the roseola is not contagious, there are others which believe that the virus of roseola is drawn aside by respiratory saliva and secretions when the child with the fever.
